1. (su-bak)

Meaning: Watermelon

[Examples]

  • (su-bak-i jeong-mal dal-a-yo) / The watermelon is really sweet.
  • (su-bak meok-go sip-da) / I want to eat watermelon.

[Dialogue]

  • A: (mwo meok-go sip-eo-yo) / What do you want to eat?
  • B: (su-bak meok-go sip-eo-yo) / I want to eat watermelon.
2. (cham-oe)

Meaning: A yellow fruit that people eat a lot during summer in Korea / Korean melon.

[Examples]

  • (cham-oe-ga dal-a-yo) / The melon is sweet.
  • (cham-oe jo-a-hae-yo) / I like melon.

[Dialogue]

  • A: (i-geo mwo-ye-yo) / What is this?
  • B: (cham-oe-ye-yo) / It’s Korean melon.
3. (eo-reum)

Meaning: Ice

[Examples]

  • (eo-reum neo-eo ju-se-yo) / Please add ice.
  • (eo-reum-i no-ga-yo) / The ice is melting.

[Dialogue]

  • A: (eom-ryo-e mwo neo-eul-kka-yo) / What should I add to your drink?
  • B: (eo-reum neo-eo ju-se-yo) / Please add ice.
4. (a-i-seu-keu-rim)

Meaning: Ice cream

[Examples]

  • (a-i-seu-keu-rim meo-geo-yo) / Let’s eat ice cream.
  • (a-i-seu-keu-rim ma-sit-da) / Ice cream is delicious.

[Dialogue]

  • A: (deo-wo-yo) / It’s hot.
