🏛️Architecture of Silence: Awon Museum & Hanok

A Garden of Time: Where BTS Stayed and Found Peace

Just beyond the pine trails of Oseongje lies a sanctuary. This is ‘Awon (我園),’ the very place where BTS stayed for five days during their visit to Wanju, finding deep rest and inspiration.

True to its name, which means “Our Garden,” this is more than just a Hanok stay. It is a complex cultural art space where the dignity of a 250-year-old traditional house perfectly harmonizes with the minimalism of modern architecture. Located within walking distance of Oseongje, discover the aesthetics of Korea that BTS fell in love with.

✨ Highlights of the Journey

1. Harmony of Time (A Timeless Masterpiece) Awon is an architectural masterpiece where the past and present coexist. It features a 250-year-old Hanok, transported piece by piece from Jinju, resting atop a modern museum built with exposed concrete. As you pass through the narrow corridors of the gallery and ascend the stairs to face the open Hanok, you will feel the thrill of traveling through time.

2. The View BTS Loved The Daecheongmaru (wooden floor) and Sarangchae, where BTS members sat while filming the <2019 Summer Package>, are the highlights of Awon. Over the tiled roof, the ridges of Mt. Jongnamsan unfold layer by layer, framed by the windows like a living painting.

Mood: Just as the members did, sit on the wooden floor with a cup of tea and enjoy “San-meong” (staring at the mountains)—a moment of pure mindfulness.

3. Reflection of Nature (The Mirror Garden) The shallow pond, or “Water Garden,” is Awon’s signature photo spot. It reflects the sky, the mountains, and the Hanok like a mirror. When the wind settles, a dreamlike world opens up on the water’s surface, creating a breathtaking scene.
