1. (yeo-reum)

Meaning: Summer

[Examples]

  • (yeo-reum-i-e-yo) / It’s summer.
  • (yeo-reum jin-jja deop-da) / Summer is really hot.

[Dialogue]

  • A: (eo-tteon gye-jeol-eul jo-a-hae-yo) / What season do you like?
  • B: (jeo-neun yeo-reum-eul jo-a-hae-yo) / I like summer.

2. (deo-wi)

Meaning: Hot weather or the sensation of heat.

[Examples]

  • (deo-wi-ga sim-hae-yo) / The heat is intense.
  • (deo-wi jin-jja sim-ha-da) / The heat is really strong.

[Dialogue]

  • A: (yo-jeum eo-ttae-yo) / How are things these days?
  • B: (deo-wi-ga sim-hae-yo) / The heat is intense.

3. (mu-deo-wi)

Meaning: Extremely severe heat, often accompanied by high humidity.

Meaning: A continuous state of extreme and severe heat / Heatwave.
