3. History & Opening Date

  • Originally a small island, Wolmido was connected to the mainland by reclaimed land in 1989.
  • Historically significant as the landing site for UN forces during the Incheon Landing Operation (1950) in the Korean War.
  • Developed into a seaside leisure park from the 1980s, featuring rides, restaurants, and cafés along the promenade.
  • Now part of the Incheon Coastal Tourism Zone, known for its sunset views and music fountains.
  • The Wolmi Theme Park opened in 1992 and remains a symbol of nostalgic seaside culture in Korea.
