Seolleung & Jeongneung Royal Tombs(선정릉)

1. Location (based on Seoul map)

  • Address: 25 Seolleung-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
  • Area: Samseong-dong / Gangnam District, southern Seoul
    Map context: Green park-style complex in the heart of Gangnam, near Samseong Station and COEX area.

2. Getting There

a) From Incheon International Airport (ICN)

  • Airport limousine or AREX → transfer to subway to Samseong Station → walk to site (70–90 min).

b) From Seoul Station

  • Subway: Line 4 → Line 2 → Samseong Station (Exit 11) → 5-10 min walk.
  • Taxi: 10-15 km / 20-30 min.

3. History & Opening Date

  • Tombs for King Seongjong (r. 1470-1494), Queen Jeonghyeon, and King Jungjong (r. 1506-1544).
  • UNESCO World Heritage (Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty, 2009).
  • Site dates from late 15th – early 16th century.
